The specific steps for making calcium hydride are as follows:
1. Put refined calcium with a purity of about 99.5% into the iron plate and place it in the center of the quartz reaction tube. Install the water inlet pipe and the water outlet pipe with rubber plugs at both ends of the quartz reaction tube, and purify the hydrogen gas through the water inlet pipe, and connect the water outlet pipe to the fume hood through a mineral oil bubbler. What happens when calcium hydride reacts with water? Calcium hydride (CaH2) reacts vigorously with water, liberating hydrogen gas.
