bismuth iodate is an inorganic compound that is highly soluble in water. It is used in chemistry to prepare bismuth oxides and other compounds. It is also used as a semiconductor and an electrolytic agent in the manufacture of batteries and in photo-resistor technology. It is an essential raw material in the production of semiconductors and a valuable industrial chemical.

In order to produce BiI and BiOI thin films on glass substrates, a new method is developed based on chemical bath deposition. This method allows us to control the structures of these films by varying the concentrations of bismuth and iodine. The structural and optical properties of the deposited films were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and UV-VIS.

Toxic vapors may form when heated above melting point, causing severe skin burns and eye damage. May cause respiratory irritation. Keep in cool, ventilated place. Store away from sunlight.
