Zirconium-nitride =105.2, density 7.99g/cm3, and is a light yellow powder. ZrN has high chemical stability and a low decomposition temperature, making it a tough refractory material. This makes ZrN resistant to high temperatures, corrosion, wear, and other environmental factors. ZrN is an excellent high-temperature structure material, superhard tool and surface protector material. ZrN thin film is a light golden colour with low brightness. It is ideal for areas where titanium dioxide isn’t suitable for coating. ZrN that has been grown via physical vapor deposit (PVD), is light golden and similar to elemental. ZrN’s room temperature resistivity is 12.0mO*cm. It has a temperature coefficient of resistance of 5.6*10-8O*cm/K. The superconducting temperature is 10.4K. And the relaxation lattice parameter of 0.4575nm. ZrN, single-crystal ZrN has a hardness of 22.7+-1.7 GPa. The elastic modulus is 450 GPa.
ZrN carbide’s uses
High hardness of zirconium nitride is 15 GPa (10), high melting points (2980+-50degC) and thermal conductivity (45-50W/mK) are some of its characteristics. It also has good wear resistance, high corrosion resistance, and high resistance to heat. It is a popular choice for coatings of thermal barriers, mold settings for material process and diffusion barriers.

Zirconium nitride preparation method
